I must say as a preface, that I went into this collection of poems with some hesitation. A purveyor of the poetic tomes I am not, but I was intrigued by the cover and description, so I gave it a fair shake.Let me suffice it to say, this collection of writings is more than it seems. There is a profound depth to these works; a soul, if you will. Mr. Laing has etched, in digital ink, his inward thoughts and I'll be the first to say that I find them extraordinarily wondrous. Songs can, and should, be made off this content. Short films could be scripted off their deeply ingrained details. Our children should study these in school as a modern example of fine American literature.
I, for one, cannot wait for a coffee table edition. Perhaps a leather bound edition, autographed by the author? With a companion vinyl audiobook? One can only hope!
